Thursday Thoughts - An Allegory for Reporting, Journalism, and Spying

A Fly On The Wall Allegory

Fireflies flew out of his mouth
and sparkled around the room.
Lucid eyes stared vacantly south,
hunting for things to consume.
Soft glowing lights made the eyes see
the shelf of sad, empty jars.
Pots growing hands grabbed them quickly,
like they were precious rocks from Mars.
Empty glass jars soon became full
of blinking lights held in jail.
Hands of sass screwed lids tight - heave, pull -
**boom** just turtles in sparkling hail?

It's not safe to be a fly on the wall
or possibly to know secrets at all.
