A California Walnut Farm That Emulates Sustainability

by Rachel Hoyt

Understands what we need,
Supports the greater we,
Tames impatience and greed,
Asks the sun to shine free,
Invites the wind to blow,
Nurtures our trash with glee,
Annexes water's flow,
Believes in harmony,
Impedes daft destruction,
Looks for what should, could be,
Inspires waste reduction,
Tries to think like a seed,
Yearns for Earth to be freed.

This news about a California walnut farm inspired me
to write an acrostic poem about sustainability.

  1. Beautiful, Rachel! Sure have missed seeing you on Blogplicity. So glad I happened to catch this tweet.

    1. Thank you Martha! I have missed my Blogplicity friends as well and hope to be back in the group soon. I have been inactive in several groups for a while because I've been too busy.

  2. This was great! Loved the artistry and technique - you make it look easy. Like your new profile pic too -very pretty! Mosk

    1. Thank you Buddah! I was pretty happy with it when I FINALLY finished it. I'm liking it even more after these compliments. Hehe. Thanks for the compliment on my picture as well! :)

  3. Rachel--very clever and well written! I am a huge fan of sustainability and I love what you did with this word :-)

Rhyming or not, I would like a lot to hear the thoughts my words brought...
