Should it Be Illegal for Supermarkets to Waste Food?

What a Waste
by Rachel Hoyt

We waste and we want,
always so hungry
to taste more, to taunt
our grumbling tummies.

Always so hungry
to feel satisfied,
our grumbling tummies
crave un-humble pie.

Still unsatisfied
won't taste all we've got,
like the humble pie

  1. Trader Joes has been donating their food for years. However, my sister works at a Ralphs store in Orange County. Many employees (can only afford to) buy the groceries on the mark-down table. If an employee doesn't buy it, it's probably not worth eating. I don't think Trader Joes has a mark-down table.

    1. The new law in France requires inedible food waste to be used for compost, etc.

A mark down table at every store would be a nice start, for sure.

  2. I hate wasting food. My girth proves it.
    You know what they say:
A waist is a terrible thing to mind. Or something like that.
